Having a Plan B can make an Impact
I know many parents who have decided to cut back on their work hours in order to be available for their children who are navigating online school. One friend shared that they need to have two internet routers in their home to support her husband's work and also three boys who are fully participating in online school. The bandwidth on one system was simply not enough so they are paying for two. Other parents need to be present to support their special needs child during this flux and helping them with a hybrid school schedule or a full time at-home online school scenario.
Financial news: "Parents of younger children are in a very tenuous position. According to a new survey from COUNTRY Financial, to accommodate the changes in the 2020 school season, 21% of parents have had to cut back their workload, and 7% have even had to quit their jobs altogether. With less money coming into the household coffers, 70% of these parents say they’ve had to delay payment on at least one of their monthly bills." Jean Chatzky

Are you a leader?
On the drive home from preschool today, I turned up my radio, forgetting that I had a direct sales CD in there. After about two sentences on goal setting, my youngest asked a related question that took me by surprise. He asked, "Mama, are you a leader?" Sensing a teachable moment in the air, I replied, "Yes" (with intentional confidence).
His next question was even deeper for a five year old. He said, "Are you a leader that bosses people or are you a leader that has teams?" What an intuitive question for a young soul.
I shared with him (feeling grateful) that I am a leader that has teams. This is a beautiful truth because I am blessed with hundreds of women on my team, but I also have incredible, compassionate, smart, savvy leaders who help their team members reach their goals. What an incredible journey to have strong teams with consultants on all spectrums: those who are beginning their business, those who are reaching their goals and those who are exploring what this business may do for them.
I was part of a vendor event last night talking to people about my business and was sharing what an incredible business structure and opportunity we have available in direct sales. Not only can I set my own personal goals and increase my monthly activity as needed and desired, but I have the honor and privilege of working with incredible women and men on my team. About ten years ago we named our team the Sensational Spa Sisters and we have always supported one another like family, with a deep awareness of helping each other reach goals that are important to that individual.
I worked in corporate America for nearly a decade and I saw the pressures of managers who had to meet monthly quotas and reach the numbers projected on all those spreadsheets. A pressurized system can easily create leaders who boss.
After leaving that frenetic 60 to 80 hour work week and transitioning to a stay at home mom, it was a huge adjustment to move from a generous salary to a big circle for my salary. I needed to bring in a decent income for my family, but I could not envision slaving away 40, 50 or 60 hours a week with young kids on my heart and in my care. Finding my own business niche where I could rely on myself for success and have the beautiful support of my team was the answer. I am so proud, honored and humbled to have an incredible nation-wide team of over six-hundred consultants.

The Gifts of being an Entrepreneur

Running your own business where you set your own schedule, make money every time you have an event, get creative with ideas to improve and build upon what you have established builds confidence. When you build a successful business, success builds confidence. I have seen over and over, women who have said, "I have never been in sales" or "I am not good at sales" have incredible success with their Lemongrass Spa business. Why? Their passion for these exceptional natural and organic products is inevitable. Passion breathes enthusiasm; enthusiasm breathes joy; joy must be shared; people want to be around joy!
Sisterhood:
"Be a sister on the SPA team". Our team's name is the Sensational Spa Sisters and we are a wonderful sisterhood of support, encouragement, integrity and focus for one another (both men and women). We have a private team page where questions can be asked and help is available. I adore walking alongside my new team members and helping them to figure out their goals and celebrating when those goals are reached. Having sold Lemongrass Spa for ten years, I can assure you that this is not a fleeting trend and I love to share ideas that have worked, as do the directors on our team. We are one of the fastest growing teams in Lemongrass Spa and have over 500 on our exceptional team. Hands down, what many women and men love is the sisterhood and the new friendships and bonds that are inevitable with a positive and upbeat group.
Freedom:
Would it be helpful for you if you could set your own hours and make additional money during your family's "off hours" so that you can attend all the important events that matter to you and your family? Personally, I love to set up my spa parties on weekend afternoons and mornings so that I can be home with my family in the evening for dinner, story time and spend time with my husband and kids. The freedom to set your own schedule is so important. If you could set your own hours, when you would work?
Financial Impact:
The biggest reason that women (and men) begin a direct sales business is to make more income and that can make a huge impact. Would it be helpful for your family (or for YOU) if you could earn an extra $600.00 to $800.00 per month? What would you do with that additional income? Would that money pay for your kid's activities, sports and camps? Would you be able to afford a reliable car or save for a vacation that has been on your bucket list? Some team members use their income to pay for college bills for their kids, put away money for retirement or finish a home re-model project that they have been dreaming about completing. Give the gift of relaxation with healthy products. We wouldn't eat junk food three meals a day so it is not healthy to feed our skin junk (nasty chemicals) either!
